WELCOME TO THE WOMEN ON TRACK CYCLING PROGRAM
The Anna Meares Velodrome is named after a woman, and no ordinary woman. But at Cycling Queensland we know that no woman is. The Women on Track Program is giving females of all ages an opportunity to embrace their spirit of fun, freedom, fitness and friendship to ride on the tracks which made Anna a household name.
Inclusive for all ages, shapes, sizes and levels of fitness…
Women on Track is designed and delivered by coaches on the National Coach Accreditation Scheme, including local Balmoral Cycling Club Coach and Commonwealth Games Gold medallist Louise Jones, to provide an inclusive environment for women ranging from complete beginners to those who ride a bike more regularly.
The Queensland Government’s Embracing 2018 Legacy Program has been developed to create long-lasting benefits for our community. And this Legacy Program fully funded the first 12 weeks of the program.
After a very successful FREE first 12-week block and a popular second 12-week block, we now commence the third and final 12-week block beginning 11 July, with the program coming to a close on 26 September. To celebrate the beginning of the third block, a Women's Cycling Festival was held at AMV with over 200 women in attendance.
All the equipment you need…
You can borrow a track bike and borrow a helmet. Bring some water and a spirit of adventure!
NOTE: If you need to cancel your booking for a Women on Track session, you must notify Cycling Queensland by 4pm on Thursdays prior to the weekends sessions.
Come along and join Women on Track!
